Life in Hermosillo
Food: Hermosillo treats its visitors to an unforgettable gastronomical experience. Its cuisine is largely influenced by the beautiful meeting of desert and sea. Sonoran livestock, accustomed to thriving in arid climate, produces the best beef in Mexico, and arguably in the world. Fresh seafood is bountiful, thanks to Hermosillo’s proximity to the Sea of Cortez and the Gulf of California. The best restaurants in Hermosillo include Charco, Los Arbolitos, and Los Gueros.
Drink: The State of Sonora is home to several annual tequila festivals, but Hermosillo in particular is likewise becoming well known for producing excellent craft beers. Buqui Bichi Brewing, the first craft brewery in Sonora, was named Mexico’s best large brewery in 2022 by Copa Cerveza, a competition that recognizes Mexican brewers.
Places to Visit: The beautiful Catedral Metropolitana is one of the most emblematic buildings in the city, boasting a Baroque and Neoclassical architectural style. Cerro de la Campana or Bell Hill is a symbol of the city, and treats viewers to an almost complete panoramic view of Hermosillo.
