Dining: Costa Rican cuisine is a beautiful fusion of cultures: Indigenous, Spanish, African, and even Jamaican. One of the most traditional dishes of Costa Rica is gallo pinto, which is rice and beans seasoned with onions, bell peppers, and cilantro. Chifrijo, which is a combination of chicharron and frijoles is also a staple, and is served with rice and avocado or tomatoes. For those looking for a heavy meal, the Casado or combo plate is a go-to, and is prepared simply with any available protein like chicken, fish, beef, or pork and served with vegetables, rice, and coleslaw. Fried plantain bananas are also a common side dish in the country. Â
Mirador Tiquicia, in the Escazu District of San Jose, has been serving traditional Costa Rican food for more than 40 years. Nuestra Tierra Restaurant is another place that serves typical Tico cuisine, and has been around for more than 20 years. Other must-visits include El Novillo Alegre, Picanha Grill Tacos, Grano de Oro Restaurant, Il Cavalino, and Cosi Restaurant. Â
Places to Visit: Costa Rica is home to a great number of volcanoes. Arenal and Irazu are two of the most popular for hikers, as both have easily accessible trails and offer breathtaking views. Nuboso de Monteverde Forest, Manuel Antonio National Park, and Drake Bay are also great options.Â
Where to Stay:Â AC Hotel by Marriott San Jose Escazu, Hotel Double Tree by Hilton Hotel Cariari San Jose, and Hotel Marriott La Hacienda Belen are just some of the options for accommodation.Â
We would describe our culture as focused, friendly, and fun. Internally we refer to ourselves as the SSG family, and our employees truly do interact as one. We make it a point to ensure that every employee feels that they are welcomed and appreciated as part of our family.
Our culture at SSG fosters teamwork by building healthy relationships and promoting accountability and working hard towards common goals. When we pool our individual, complementary abilities together, we accomplish extraordinary things as a team.
