Life in Panama City

Food and Drink: Panamanian cuisine is a hodgepodge of Indigenous, Spanish, and African techniques, each offering its own unique flavors. Truly, the dishes in Panama reflect its diverse population, and the different regional cuisines only add to the richness of the food culture in the country. Pre-colonial ingredients include corn, cacao, and root crops. The arrival of the Spanish brought new spices and cooking techniques.

Dining options in Panama City include Os Segredos De Carne, Siete Mares, La Casa De Marisco, Casa Alejandro, and Vinoteca. Panama is also one of the biggest consumers of beer in Latin America. It’s no surprise that craft breweries have become more popular the past few years, with majority of them cropping up in Panama City, like Istmo Brew Pub, BierGarten, and El Pavo Real.

Places to Visit: There are many options for sightseeing. Of course, the Panama Canal is a must-see, as well as the Amador Causeway. The Panama Viejo Museum is just a short walk from the Asuncion Cathedral. Visitors can also opt for a City Tour around Panama City, or a boat trip on the canal.

Where to Stay: Overlooking Panama Bay, the Hilton Panama is only 6 kilometers from the historical district and 12 kilometers from the canal.

We would describe our culture as focused, friendly, and fun. Internally we refer to ourselves as the SSG family, and our employees truly do interact as one. We make it a point to ensure that every employee feels that they are welcomed and appreciated as part of our family.
